Wondering about therapy?

While there can be a specific reason to seek therapy, it’s not always clear. At any age we can find ourselves out of our depth, and/or in the midst of despair.

Perhaps you have got to a stage where you are wanting something to change, or you would like to feel differently. Perhaps something has happened to you and that event plays on your mind.

It can be helpful to understand some of the ways in which you are behaving, particularly if relationships are challenging, or breaking down.

Maybe you simply don’t know what is going on, and you just need a safe, quiet space in which to understand the anxiety and/or depression that you are experiencing.

There are so many situations that are naturally stressful and/or overwhelming, yet many of us feel that they should be manageable and dealt with alone. This lack of sharing and self-reliance can lead to feelings of loneliness, resentment and often to an increased need for food, alcohol, working, spending or screen devices as a source of comfort and/or retreat.

Whatever you are going through, it is likely you have a valid reason to seek therapy, yet it might feel worrying to realise, or to be told, that you need help. Please know, then, that you may contact me with any questions or concerns, or to arrange an initial consultation. My Experience sets out some of the issues that I am used to working with.
